I am a botanical artist and illustrator with a strong interest in plants and natural materials. My work is centered around studying and depicting the structure of leaves, flowers, and stems through drawing, natural pigments, and embroidery. I focus on accuracy and detail, aiming to capture the essence of each plant I work with. My interest in botanical art goes beyond illustration—I also experiment with making natural paints, exploring traditional techniques, and working with plant-based crafts. Observing nature closely and understanding how different species grow and change throughout the seasons is something that constantly inspires me. Through my work, I want to share my appreciation for the botanical world and encourage others to notice the beauty in plants, whether it’s a wildflower by the roadside or the structure of a dried leaf.
Our lives are deeply rooted in the sacredness of the earth, born from the soil, nourished by the soil, akin to the soil.
Page 8 will celebrate the unity between humans and plants by focusing on our physical similarities and our shared connection to the earth. I found Vlada's Botanical Diary on Instagram and instantly knew she was the artist for this page. Her work is not only visually beautiful and will clearly show a plant's vascular system, but her dedication to documenting plants for her botanical diary shows she is the perfect person to celebrate plant life on page eight.
